The Hon'ble Auditor General of Bhutan held meeting with the Gasa Dzongkhag and Gewog Admiistrations on 10th May, 2012. The meeting was attended by Dasho Dzongda, Dangrab, Dzongrab, Gups, Sectors Heads, Regional Heads, Gewog Administrative Officers, Gewog Accountants, Drungchen from Gasa Rabday and representative from RBP.
The Hon'ble Auditor General made a presentation on the 'Roles and Responsibilities of the Royal Audit Authority'. As a part of sensitization programmes to the local elected leaders and the officials of Gewogs and the Dzongkhags, the participants were briefed on the roles and responsibilities of RAA in promoting accountability in the governance system. The meeting discussed various issues relating to auditing system and audit irregularities that are common to Gewogs and Dzongkhags. The meeting also reviewed pending unresolved audit issues related to Gewogs and Dzongkhag and discussed on actions required to resolve the issues.
The RAA completes review and awareness programmes in 10 Dzongkhags and the programmes in other Dzongkhags are expected to be completed very soon.
