Auditors Column: Drukyul's Destiny: Poem by the Hon'ble Auditor General

IT IS OUR TURN

Repent not for you could not serve as militia;

Regret not that materially you could not contribute;

Languish not that you were useless and helpless.

Opportunity abounds for greater missions.

For everyone has his time, for everybody has his turn.

The King had led His war,

Soldiers did serve and sacrifice.

Threat external is the past,

Future that has promises-behold

 ’Cause hath come - our time and our turn.

Lyonpos and lalops, ashis and dashos,

Gupas and aums, tshongpons and gerdeys,

Gups and chimis, tshogpas and mang aps,

Lopon and lobthrugs,  gomchens and anems,

Gopons and zhungyogps, minchungs and tagshars,

            ‘Cause hath come - our time and our turn.

Think of service-superior and selfless first!

Fight the evil within us next!

Subdue the enemy within society then

Get our own acts clean and right,

‘Cause hath come - our time and our turn

The war against affliction and poverty,

Suffering and want, deprivation and discrimination

Greed and selfishness must be won.

Commit, strive and persevere!

Let us each optimise our roles!

Play our part and do our share!

‘Cause hath come - our time and our turn.

Let us see the twinkle on the Face

That dreams of smile on every child.

It is our turn now to win this war,

Reap the fruit of the flushing,

GNH must make sense,

GNH shall become a reality,

‘Cause hath come - our time and our turn.
