Auditors Column: Drukyul's Destiny: Poem by the Hon'ble Auditor General

The Valiant Eleven

You came as soldiers of Bhutan.

Duba from ngangla, nado from uma,

Yeshi from martshala, sonam from sanglung,

Pema from khaling, karma from uzorong,

Sonam from umling, damji from khibisa,

Kinzang from matsho, pema from jurmey,

Chophela from saling, in hours of our need,

For you were the true sons of the soil.

What was considered impossible

You all helped make it possible.

Hesitated not a bit,

Thought nought of self risk

You gave up your lives

So we shall live.

In your death you live forever

In our memory, in our hearts.

You served well your Commander Supreme!

You brought your nation fame!

Your loss is not in vain

In your loss is mightier the Bhutan,

The Bhutanese soldier acclaimed.

In your loss the nation won its pride,

Did your brethren and sisters proud.

We thank you for your lives

And for your services.

We shall remember,

History shall record

Not only for what you did

But for who you were.

You shall live in our prayers

You shall live in our hearts.

Rest in peace, soldiers, in heaven

The pawos of the thunder dragon

The great valiant Eleven!

Dasho Kunzang Wangdi
