Workshop on Audit of Procurement Process 

August 1, 2006: The Workshop on Audit of Procurement Process will be held at Jakarta, Indonesia from 7-18^th August 2006. The course on 'Audit of Procurement Process' was designed in Thimphu, Bhutan from 1-14 May 2006 by six Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), training specialists from Bhutan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand and India.

Tashi, Head, Human Resource and International Relations Division, Royal Audit Authority, the ASOSAI training specialist leaves tomorrow as one of the instructors for the workshop.

More than thirty participants from various Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions will participate in the Workshop. Yeshi Jamtsho, Assistant Auditor General, from the Office of the Assistant Auditor General, Samdrup Jongkhar will attend this workshop from the Royal Audit Authority.

9th Annual Audit Conference

July 14, 2006: The 9^th Annual Audit Conference on the theme 'In-roads to Performance Auditing' will convene from 19^th July to 21^st July 2006 at the Royal Banquet hall, Thimphu. His Lordship, Lyonpo Sonam Tobgay, The Chief Justice of Bhutan and His Excellency Lyonpo Wangdi Norbu, Hon'ble Minister for Finance have kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the opening and closing ceremony respectively.

Reviews and discussions on Annual Audit Plan 2005-2006, Annual Audit Plan 2006-2007, consistency on Audit reporting, Certification and Financial Audit, Dealing with fraud and Corruption in the process of auditing, Evidence gathering, documentation and Court warrant requirements will be covered during the three day Annual Audit Conference. The Conference will also adopt theme for the coming 10^th Annual Audit Conference.

More than hundred auditors from the Royal Audit Authority (RAA) Head Quarter, Thimphu and its three Regional Offices of Tsirang, Bumthang and Samdrup Jongkhar will participates in the three days Annual Audit Conference.

July 3, 2006: A Three day workshop on performance audit began today 3^rd July 2006. More than thirty participants including internal auditors from the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs, and Ministry of Finance are attending the training. The workshop is being organized to complement the introduction of Performance Audit guidelines to those who have not avail any form of training or workshop on performance audit so far. With this workshop almost all auditors will have the basic concept on the performance audit. The performance audit guidelines were drafted with the UNDP assistance last year. The workshop is also being funded by the UNDP.
