Annual Audit Report 2006 being presented in the 87th session of the National Assembly of Bhutan

June 14, 2007: In line with the Audit Act of Bhutan 2006, the Royal Audit Authority submitted the Annual Audit Report 2006 to the National Assembly of Bhutan in the forth quarter of the fiscal year 2006-2007.

Accordingly, the Public Accounts Committee presented the report in the 87th session of the National Assembly on 8th June 2007.

After much deliberations in the Assembly, it was resolved that the Prime Minister, ministers, dzongdags, gups and chimis should coordinate and solve the irregularities within next six months. It was also resolved that all corruption related cases should be handled by the Anti Corruption Commission in accordance with its Act.

The establishment of Regional Audit Training Centre at Tsirang, construction of Regional Office buildings, establishment of IT Audit and Environmental Audit Sections, development of auditing standards and manuals, simplifying audit of corporations and financial institutions and pursuing a policy of aggressive follow–ups were some of the future strategies of the RAA as given in the Annual Audit Report 2006.

The OD Team submits OD Report to the Auditor General

June 08, 2007: The Organizational Development Team of the Royal Audit Authority completed their OD assignment on 4th June 2007. The team presented their Report to the Hon’ble Auditor General on 7th June 2007 at the latter’s office. Mr. Bachu Phub Dorji from the Royal Civil Service Commission was also present on the day. The Auditor General thanked the team for the professional job that they have done for the RAA and expressed his eagerness to implement the action plans.

During the entire exercise, the team conducted Customer Satisfaction Survey and Organizational Behavior Survey. The outcome of these surveys including the outcomes of the HR Workshop were discussed during the Debriefing and accordingly framed actions plans for the organization. The Action Plans consist of issues that can be implemented at the level of organization, the RCSC, the National Steering Committee and at the Government.

 

RAA undergoes OD (Organizational Development) Exercise.

May 14, 2007:As part of Royal Government of Bhutan’s initiative to strengthen the civil service for its important role in Bhutan’s constitutional democracy and Good Governance, the Royal Audit Authority is undergoing OD exercise which began from 11th May 2007.

During the meeting with the OD team, the Auditor General emphasized on the importance of such an exercise in view of changing environment and to fulfill the expectations of the society at large. “For RAA, this is a long awaited exercise” said the Auditor General of Bhutan.

The OD Team comprising of the senior officials from the Royal Institute of Management, Planning Commission, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Communication and Information, Royal Audit Authority and a private consultant completed 2-weeks of intensive OD Training at Royal Institute of Management prior to taking up their assignment.
